This Set has a singular and simple purpose: to share the texts in the exhibition Claes Oldenburg: The Sixties, which describe the themes and processes associated with Oldenburg's work and approach to artmaking from the 1960s and, in some cases, beyond. The exhibition is on view at the Walker Art Center through January 12, 2014. Read these texts to whet your appetite before visiting the exhibition, revisit the texts following your visit, or, if you're an educator, bring these texts into your classroom if you're leading a conversation or activity around Oldenburg, Pop Art, or the sixties in general. The images and videos are meant to animate the texts and provide additional context for the exhibition. The texts are available to download at the end of the Set.
