Life is Life is the story of a melancholy frog that author Stephanie Watson discovered living in a cereal box in her kitchen pantry. Behind his tiny red door, Angelo the frog plays the piano and tries in vain to compose a song for his lost love Rosaline. Stephanie tries to help him write his song, and heal his broken heart, through a combination of friendship, art and cereal.

At the turning point in the story, the two take a trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts to see some paintings. In addition to this being a story of friendship, it's also an introduction to some wonderful pieces in the museum's collection. It's an exploration into the healing power of art.
