The young adult novel, The Mystery of the Third Lucretia by Minnesota author, Susan Runholt, starts in the MIA when two very smart and savvy 14 year old girls, Kari and Lucas, become suspicious of a creepy guy painting near Rembrandt's Lucretia. The adventure continues to Europe and makes for a fun 'art read'. There's good detail about the style of painting and lots of suspense. It's a quick, fun background read for both the painting and the museum.
