Clarification:  I was searching on "orb" in the process of putting together a collection called "Sputnik."

This one came up with the keyword search "orb."  Yes, Sputniks is sort of a prodigal son!

Don't know what this is but it's evocative for me of the space age and a rocket gantry.  Came up with a search of keyword "space age."

This looks to me like a fascinating amalgam of Western ideas about the early Soviet space program.  Sputnik, of course, didn't carry a dog, but some of the very early Soviet space shots did (they chose dogs over monkeys because they were calmer, and easier to dress).   The fact this symbol of socialist techonological, scientific and cultural triumph is rendered as a piggy-bank (Sputnik-bank) raises all sorts of interesting questions.  What might some of those be?
