work with view of atrium

What a great idea! Where did it come from?

The artist came up with the idea of making a globe of glass after talking with the building architects and people who would teach and work at the Carlson School of Management. This collaboration helped the artist decide what to make. The site of the work, or where it will be placed, is very important in a public work of art. This sculpture is hanging in a new business school. It is a building with a very large atrium, an open space in the center of the building. The artist wanted make something beautiful and strong that would excite people who entered the building.
