Minnesota in 3/4 Time

photograph of mosaic church floor, Rome, Italy
Taken by JoAnn Verberg

Does this remind you of anything?

The artist got the idea of making this window from a lot of different places.

Verburg made the window design after she saw a church floor in Rome that was created hundreds of years ago. Many times, artists get ideas from the art made in the past or in far-away countries. For example, Verburg liked the pastel colors used by some stained-glass designers from the 1930s and put those colors in her design. During this same time period, artists like Frank Lloyd Wright used patterns in their designs for glass.
