Minnesota in 3/4 Time

JoAnn Verburg
Minnesota in 3/4 Time 1997
glass, steel, photograph
detail of spring window
Tate Physics Lab
University of Minnesota

Are these really photographs?

Yes!
This project is a new kind of stained-glass window. The artist printed photographs on the glass over the front doors to the building.

The photographs are pictures of trees that are right outside the building. The pictures show the trees in all four seasons. Verburg used colored and clear glass in the window. That way, when you're inside the building looking through the window, you can see both the actual tree and a photograph of it.
