Who is Harriet Bart?

Harriet Bart lives in Minneapolis. She was born in Duluth and grew up in San Francisco, California. She returned to Minnesota to attend the University of Minnesota. She has been exhibiting her work for more than 20 years. She has shown her art in Germany and Japan as well as in the United States. Bart often uses books and words in her art. Her father, who studied the origins of words-or where they came from-sparked her interest in books, language, and the power of words. When she was a child, Bart's family didn't have much money, but books were always available.
