How did this get here?

Harvest began with a competition. The design by artist Harriet Bart was selected from a number of designs by other artists. They were competing for a chance to make a work of art for the Weisman Art Museum Sculpture Plaza.

For this work, Bart had to consider several issues: the overall design concept, or what the work would look like, the site, or where the work would be located; the materials she would use; and the team of people needed to build the work.
