Paul Manship in the Twin Cities

The Minnesota Museum of American Art has a large number of Paul Manship sculptures in its collection, including Indian Hunter and His Dog, Cycle of Life - Armillary Sphere, Tortoise and Hare, Wolf and Lamb, Group of Bears, Group of Deer, and the Time and the Fates Sundial.

The Minnesota Museum of American Art is located on the second floor of the Landmark Center at the intersection of Fifth and Market streets in downtown St. Paul, adjacent to Rice Park.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays; 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays; closed Mondays.

Admission is free.

In addition to the Manship works in the galleries at the Minnesota Museum of American Art, there are other Manship sculptures located around the Twin Cities.

The large version of Indian Hunter and His Dog is located at Cochran Park, which is at the intersection of Summit and Western Avenues in St. Paul.

A fiberglass replica of Indian Hunter and His Dog is at Como Park in St. Paul, right next to the conservatory. Como Park is located at the intersection of Como and Lexington avenues in St. Paul. For Como Park Conservatory and Zoo information, call (651) 487-8200.

Four monumumental Manship vases decorate a building in downtown Minneapolis at the corner of Third Ave. and Seventh St. The building is the old Metropolitan Center, recently renamed Andersen Consulting Tower.
