Artist Statement
Bridget Johnson
I am 14 years old and attend Central Middle School. I have always been interested in art throughout my life.
I chose a toaster as my piece because I love food and a lot of the time I eat toasted waffles for dinner. I also love strawberry Pop Tarts so I figured a toaster would be a good subject.
I decided to place various types of beads and gems on my piece. It also traveled to camp with me one weekend so that I could work on it.
Everyone was staring.
I think that I was basically trying to show that even a really old toaster can be turned into a work of art and to never throw neat stuff like that away because you never know what you could turn it into in the future.
I really love art and hope to pursue a job in the future which deals with some type of art. |
