Roll out a 12" x 15" x 3/4" clay slab for each child (06 red sculpture). Place on newspaper and cover with clay bag until ready.
In groups enough for 34, place clay tools and black underglaze with brushes.
Hand back the Symbol Creation Worksheets for reference. Explain to the children that today they are to take their symbols and recreate them in the clay slabs as if they were creating a pictograph or petroglyph in nature on stone walls.
They must use their original story and symbols.
They may use glaze or not.
Cover slabs with clear coat (or not).
Let slabs dry completely and fire.
