Mexico (Nayarit)
This is a story of a tradition that the Mexican people do in the month of November. It was written by a seventh grader Denise (in her own words without any corrections) who goes in school in Danube, Minnesota. Denise is shown holding a box that she made in Mrs. Monson's art class to honor someone who has died in her family. It is filled with momentos that perhaps that person had in their life or something that would remind Denise of that person.
The Day of the Dead This is how we celebrate the day of the dead in Mexico. Every 1 of November we go and visit our loved ones or people whowere part of our lives who died. We take flowers, candles, and pray for them. We stay for awhile visiting, talking to them, remembering the times when they were here and crying cause we will never see them again. After being with them for hours we go home. Also every 2 of November we celebrate, well its like the second day of the dead. Some people take food to |
